Ryan Tuerck slid up this mountain, so why not slide down? It’s just on a longboard instead.

Yes-this is cool. Yes Truerck makes drift videos. BUT this is a hill that our club has been racing up for many many years.

Ken Block drifted up Goodwood-doesn’t anyone call it HIS hill?

People didn’t think clearly on that one. Did I call it his hill? I thought it was Burke Mountain.

No-you did not. But the original poster of the video did. My anger is directed towards them.

We saw Ryans video and the tire marks on the hill. (Spoiler-he does as many passes as Ken Block.) We reached out to try to get him to run one of our events-with no response. I didn’t hear anything negative about it at Burke, but he did piss off Ascutney state park after that video. The hill was booked as a “tire test.” They weren’t expecting drift marks all over their hill.

Could Tuerck possibly be an asshat?

He could have just figured it’s better to ask forgiveness than permission, in that asking to make a drift video probably makes bureaucratic types cringe. “Geez, George I don’t know what that is, but it sounds dangerous. Tell them no.”

Burke is awesome. I want to live there. Great mountain biking in the summer, great skiing in the winter. Like where I live now, but better.
